Math Path — Learning Mathematics in Public
A public journal of notebooks with formulas and drawings, written from a hidden admin on any device
Overview
Math Path is the journal of my path learning mathematics. Visitors read the notebooks I keep while studying, plus blog posts, projects, certificates and a roadmap of courses and books. I write everything from a private admin that works on my laptop, iPad or phone. Notebooks are organised into sections and pages, and each page uses a block editor where text, LaTeX formulas, images, Definition/Theorem/Proof boxes and colour drawings mix freely. It runs server-rendered on Cloudflare Workers, with content in D1 and uploads in R2, all within the free tier.
Highlights
- Notebook → section → page structure with drafts: a page is public only when the page, its section and its notebook are all published
- Tiptap 3 block editor with Markdown shortcuts, a / command menu, tables, checklists, embeds (YouTube, Desmos, GeoGebra) and autosave with recovery
- LaTeX formulas rendered with KaTeX, inline or centred, with a live preview and a symbol palette
- Colour drawing canvas with pressure-sensitive pen (Apple Pencil), highlighter, shapes, arrows and graph-paper backgrounds, stored in R2 and editable later
- Tiptap JSON rendered to HTML on the server with no DOM, so public pages are fast and readable without JavaScript
- Hidden admin: secret URL + password (PBKDF2) + authenticator code (TOTP), rate-limited sign-in; /admin and the API answer 404 to everyone else
